Wiersma, Jacquelyn

Dr. Jackie Wiersma currently resides in Fayetteville, AR where she teaches at the University of Arkansas. She is originally from Le Mars, IA where she did her Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Northern Iowa. She then pursued graduate degrees with a Master’s in Human Development & Family Sciences (HDFS) at Arizona State University, a Ph.D. in HDFS at Texas Tech University, and a post-doc at Penn State University. Jackie currently teaches a large Family Relations course at the U of A and has been studying young adult relationships for the past 10 years, with a curiosity in mate selection.
After moving to Arkansas four years ago, she became interested in the subject of astrology and zodiacs, based on her friends’ birthdays and their own compatibilities. She soon became an expert on zodiacs and has written the book (out next spring) “The Zodiac Recipe: A Ph.D.’s Guide to Understanding You and Your Relationships.”
